octie!

this is my surrealist design
i wanted the octopus to look like it was turning into the tree branches. I used unity with the coloring and movement with the branches being whimsical and flowing. to personalize it i used one of my favorite colors, blue and individually cut out each branch and blended it into the octopus

Rob Janoff created the Apple logo. He also has designed images for Kraft, Kleenex, IBM and SC Johnson but is known internationally for his recognized Apple icon.
i included some of the products the apple logo is on like popular ipods and computers. i tried to create a metallic look by adding a white gradient and reflecting the apples. i also used colors similar to apple products.

fuelosophy!

i think this a really fun design and appealing. i like the fruit slice on the bottle and how the kiwi looks like it's bursting. Its very easy to understand from the imagery and lettering and the fruits look fresh and really brightly colored.  i would definitely buy it if i saw it the store

i made a poster for Harriet Tubman and the underground railroad. i named the band Araminta because that was her maiden name, Araminta Ross, and i thought that was a really unique and cool name. the date of the concert, January 29, 1850, is significant because that is the date congress created the Compromise of 1850, which split states to be free or slave and initiated the Fugitive Slave Act, making the need for the railroad greater. the location is maryland because that is where the underground railroad supposedly began and where Harriet Tubman worked to abolish slavery the most and the maryland theatre was there in 1850 already. I added Issac Hopper and Frederick Douglass because they were the key leading figures of the abolitionist movement and worked with Tubman helping slaves escape with through the "underground railroad"

Dr. Seuss...a wise old man :)

Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind
for this quote design project i used one of my favorite quotes and incorporated it in as the background using a clipping mask. used bright colors and different object and people from popular Dr. Seuss books like the lorax trees, the cat in the hat and thing one and two. the assignment was to make a portrait out of a famous quote or historical figure.
My design is a lot different from others because most people used presidents or leaders and are really serious but mine is more light and colorful. i like that everyone should be able to recognize the cat in the hat and thing one and two and understand the quote.
